Pushing far beyond the horizon, Moana’s inspirational story continues to resonate with Disney fans around the world. Across Disney Parks, her presence has grown through live entertainment, relatable character encounters, immersive environments, and more, appearing in new ways since the original Walt Disney Animation Studios film debuted in 2016.
Now, with Disney’s Moana hitting theaters on July 10, fans are certainly eager to find out where to find Moana, Maui, Heihei, and friends across Disney Parks. There’s so much more beyond the reef – let’s take a look at how guests can plan their next Moana-themed vacation across Disney Parks and beyond.

Moana Experiences at Walt Disney World
For those drawn to the ocean, passionate about live entertainment at Disney World, or are hoping to meet the wayfinding leader of Motunui up close, they’ll find plenty to explore throughout the resort. From a one-of-a-kind, self-guided trail at EPCOT to upcoming learn-to-draw classes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Moana’s world comes to life across Disney World.
- Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana: Based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana, pass through a self-guided outdoor exploration trail and explore the wonders of water. Here, enjoy magical encounters and explore this whimsical, watery world (there are two paths for discovery: one dry path and one path) with key elements from the film. Be sure to watch Catherine Laga’aia, who stars as Moana in Disney’s live-action film, experience Journey of Water, inspired by Moana.
- The Magic of Disney Animation (Coming Soon): Opening later this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests may be able to learn how to sketch Moana during “Olaf Draws!” with lessons being taught by story artist Samantha Vilfort.
- Meet Moana Across Walt Disney World: Search for the voyager from Motunui throughout Disney World, where she may meet with guests at select times:
- Meet Moana in World Nature at EPCOT
- Meet Moana at Character Landing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- “Fantasmic!”: Look for Moana and other Disney characters during this extravagant, open-air nighttime musical at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away”: At Magic Kingdom, witness a shimmering, nighttime processional inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade, featuring characters from Moana, Peter Pan, Frozen, and more.
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Stay right in the heart of the magic with Moana-inspired hotel rooms and exclusive amenities, like a kid-friendly splash pad area at the Island Tower with life-sized sculptures of Moana and her iconic canoe. After checking in, be sure to stop by the second floor of the Grand Ceremonial House to discover an oceanic outpost filled with playful merch and Moana-themed souvenirs.
- New Food and Beverage: Guests can also enjoy a lineup of limited-time treats inspired by the spirit of Moana, including:
- Motunui Ube Sundae: Ube soft-serve with tropical fruits, coconut, raspberry crumbs, and macadamia (Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Anandapur Ice Cream Truck)
- Heihei Delight: A tropical blend of pineapple and coconut topped with a pineapple slice and SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze Dried Candy (EPCOT – The Land Cart)
Moana Experiences on Disney Cruise Line
Chart a course with Moana across the Disney Cruise Line fleet, where her story takes shape through live entertainment and onboard experiences across ships. Discover just how far you’ll go on board Disney Cruise Line with these inspiring Moana-themed experiences.
- “Disney The Tale of Moana”: On the Disney Treasure, watch the ocean come to life and choose Moana to restore the heart of Te Fiti in this adventurous Broadway-style stage show. This production explores Moana’s journey through vibrant dance and songs in a mix of languages, including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan, and Samoan.
- “Moana: Call of the Sea”: An inspiring live show at Wayfinder Bay on the Disney Adventure, join Moana in a show-stopping musical adventure. Space is limited during performances of this show, so be sure to arrive early to secure your seat.
- “Disney Seas the Adventure”: On the first night aboard the Disney Adventure, Disney Destiny, Disney Treasure, and Disney Wish, navigate the seas with a stage show alongside some favorite Disney and Pixar friends. In an original arrangement exclusive to this show, heroines Elsa, Moana, and Merida perform a powerful medley, emboldening Goofy to go into the unknown.
- Gramma Tala’s Kitchen: On the Disney Adventure, enjoy a warm, inviting eatery surrounded by vibrant South Pacific-style art, backgrounds, and decor.
- Heihei Café: Explore a casual, themed café inspired by Heihei, offering a playful Moana-adjacent dining experience on the Disney Treasure.
- Character Appearances: Set sail with Moana during select character greetings across the Disney Cruise Line fleet and celebrate the spirit of courage, discovery, and wayfinding.

Moana Experiences at Disneyland Resort
At Disneyland Resort, Moana appears in select entertainment offerings, while a fan-favorite detail on Main Street, U.S.A., nods to her story in a familiar setting.
- Character Appearances: Spot Moana in Fantasyland in Disneyland Park.
- “Wondrous Journeys”: Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., the Rivers of America, and the facade of “it’s a small world” come to life during this stunning nighttime spectacular, with moments from memorable animated films like Moana. Wondrous Journeys runs through August 20, 2026.
- “Tapestry of Happiness”: Look for Moana in this projection show on the iconic facade of “it’s a small world” featuring dazzling lights, projection effects, and music.
- “World of Color”: Keep a look out for Moana in select “World of Color” shows, including “World of Color Happiness!” which runs through August 9, 2026, as well as “World of Color – ONE”, which returns to Disney California Adventure Park for a limited time beginning August 10, 2026.
- Animation Academy: Guests can learn to draw beloved characters Heihei and Pua at Animation Academy inside the Disney Animation Building at Disney California Adventure. Classes take place every 30 minutes throughout the day, and no reservations required. Check the daily schedule posted outside Animation Academy to see when guests can learn to draw Heihei or Pua.
- Moana Window Display: Located outside of the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park, look for an animated window display featuring Moana, Maui, Pua, Heihei, Te Fiti, and hidden Kakamora.

Moana Experiences at Aulani
At Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, Moana’s story is reflected in experiences that draw from culture and traditions of the Hawaiian Islands. Across this tropical, relaxing resort, guests can meet Moana and take part in interactive activities.
- Moana Character Greeting: Say aloha to Moana at Aulani and hear all about her incredible adventures alongside Maui. Check the Daily ‘Iwa or Aulani App for times and locations.
- Wayfinding with Moana: Guests ages 4-12 can embark on a journey with Moana at Aunty’s Beach House, stepping into the spirit of Polynesian voyaging as Moana shares the sacred art of wayfinding in this premium experience. Wayfinders can also design and craft a miniature double hauled canoe, inspired by the traditional Hawaiian wa‘a (additional fees may apply).
- Painted Sky: HI Style Studio: Kids aged 3 to 12 can be treated to a fun and fashionable makeover. Some packages include a choice of hairstyles to compliment a little one’s new look, which include: Minnie Mouse Buns, Mermaid Style, Moana Beach Bun, Moana Wave, Surfer Style, and Lū’au Bound.
