I Didn’t Want to Carry the Mental Load on Vacation

There have honestly been a couple of times where my husband and I thought, “You know, we’ve done this a few times… we could probably handle it on our own.”

But then we asked ourselves, why would we do that? She does it so much better — and if you do it yourself, you have to do it all yourself.

Disney is magical, but there is also just so much to do and so many different things to figure out. Having Allison’s itinerary really took the stress out of the whole experience. We actually ended up getting sick on this trip — my husband before we left, then I got sick — and because we had this great itinerary already in place, I didn’t have to stress about re-planning anything.

Even when we messed up our very first rope drop ride, I heard Allison’s voice in my head saying, “You can pivot if it’s a really long line,” and we switched to the next ride on the list and got on in two minutes. That kind of flexibility built into the plan made a huge difference throughout the whole trip.

Learning how to actually use the park was probably the most valuable part. Things like rider swap with multiple kids, Lightning Lane strategies, stroller tips, and how to talk to Cast Members if something comes up made everything run so much smoother. There were even times when we couldn’t get a Lightning Lane for the right time, went up to a Cast Member like Allison suggested, and they just told us to go on anyway.

Because everything was planned out ahead of time, we were able to get to rope drop on time every day and didn’t stand in lines more than about 20 minutes (except when we did Peter Pan wrong!). We could split up when needed, take breaks when someone wasn’t feeling well, and still see our kids’ favorite things again later because it was already built into the plan.

If I had to describe our experience with Practically Perfect Travel in one word, it would be stress-free. It really took the stress out of the whole experience so we could just enjoy the park and make memories instead of constantly figuring out what to do next.

I’ve already told friends — you will not regret it. People keep asking me how we knew the plan or how we figured out what to do, and I just tell them, I know this fabulous person, and she planned it.
