Drum roll, please! Today, we revealed that the honorary role of godparent of the Disney Treasure will be held by The Walt Disney Company cast, crew, Imagineers and employees around the world! This is the first time in Disney Cruise Line history that the more than 200,000 magic-makers, who create meaningful lifelong Disney memories for families every day, are being recognized with this important role. We are proud to pay tribute to our incredible storytellers across the globe who continue to create and bring beloved Disney stories to life across the globe.
In a longstanding maritime tradition, the ship godparent bestows a special blessing that brings good fortune and safekeeping to the vessel, its crew, and the millions of families who will sail onboard for years to come. The Disney Treasure follows in the footsteps of its sister ship, the Disney Wish, which reimagined this honorary role in 2022 by naming all Make-A-Wish children – including past, present and future recipients – as godchildren.
