A compact umbrella is one of my park bag essentials. It provides shade on hot afternoons and is ready for unexpected rain—all while folding small enough to fit in most park bags.
Cooling towels are one of the first things I pack for a summer Disney vacation. Just wet them, wring them out, and snap them to activate the cooling effect. They take up very little space in a park bag and can make a big difference on hot afternoons.
Disposable ponchos are one of the most versatile items in my park bag. I pack one for every person, every park day. They keep you dry in unexpected rain, help on water rides, provide a clean place to sit while waiting for parades or fireworks, and are inexpensive enough to throw away or pass along when you're finished with them.
A portable charger is one of the most important items in my park bag. I like this Anker model because it's lightweight, holds plenty of power for a full park day, and doesn't add much weight to my backpack.
I like the Clutch because it magnetizes to your phone, so you can keep using your phone comfortably while it charges—especially helpful in the parks when you're constantly checking the app.
The downside is that it charges more slowly and holds less power than my larger charger, so I use it more for convenience than all-day capacity.
These are one of my favorite things to keep in a small park first aid kit. Hydrocolloid bandages stay put better than standard bandages and are especially helpful for protecting blisters once they start.
A small first aid kit is an easy way to be prepared for minor scrapes, headaches, or blisters without searching for a first aid station. I like using a compact kit like this and adding a few extras, like blister bandages and pain reliever.
